Walking Challenge

On Saturday 27th September, 19 colleagues of KLH Architects will be taking on the physical and mental challenge of walking the 3 Welsh Peaks.

The aim is to climb the first peak and arrive at the top of “Pen y Fan” in time for sunrise – 07.08am, and then arrive at the top of the third peak “Snowdon” in time for Sunset – 19.02pm. In order to achieve this we will have an early start, setting out by 5am to take on the first Peak “Pen y Fan”, covering a distance of 4.72 miles and elevation of 886 metres.

Once we descend the mountain, we will be driven in a mini bus to the base of the second Peak “Cadair Idris”. Here we will immediately begin our ascent, 893 metres of elevation, and will cover a total distance of 5.32 miles.

Having completed the second peak, it will be straight on to Pen y Pass car park to begin our third and final peak, “Snowdon”. This will no doubt be the hardest and we will ascend via the Pyg Track, an elevation of 1085 metres, hoping to arrive at the top before sunset, 19.02pm. The final decent will take us down to Llanberis car park and we will of covered a distance of 8.22 miles.

The total distance covered walking the 3 peaks will be 18.26 miles

The training has begun already!!!

The “Sunrise to Sunset – 3 Welsh Peaks” challenge is all part of the KLH big fund raising year for our charity “Inspire”.
