With a team of over 30 employees, KLH is a strong architects practice based in Suffolk, run by three Directors and supported by a team of architectural, technological and administrative staff. KLH has a wealth of knowledge and experience to call upon across all sectors in which they are involved.
Robert Keeble
Director
Architect RIBA AABC
Rob qualified from Brighton school of architecture in 1983 with a first class degree and began his career within a regional firm of architects. Since forming KLH Architects in 1988 with Graham Lambert and Alan Howard, Rob has continued in regionally orientated practice and has formed a close working knowledge of many of East Anglian Planning authorities. His experiences extend to a wide range of project types ranging from historic listed buildings to education and large healthcare facilities. Rob believes in and practices the approach that whatever the nature of client, private individual, local authority or trust body it is important that a close and direct relationship be developed with their architect. He is committed to continued professional development and joined the list of architects accredited in Building Conservation in 2011 together with completing a Post-Graduate Certificate in Energy and Sustainable Building Design in 2012 via distance learning with De-Montfort University. (MSc pending research project.)
With a firm belief that the nature of the client brief and the context will dictate the design solution Rob is aware that this will vary and whether conservation, contexture or reproduction, it is always the quality of design and execution that delivers exemplary architecture.

Bryan joined KLH Architects in 2014 as a Project Architect and brought with him considerable team leading experience on major public sector, healthcare, education, commercial and residential projects. With specialist technical knowledge and contract administration experience Bryan has established a strong project and client portfolio at KLH Architects. Since joining KLH Architects Bryan has overseen the transition to using Autodesk Revit for all live projects and is continuing to evolve Revit and Building Information (BIM) strategies across the company.
Appointed as a Director of KLH Architects in 2018 Bryan is an integral member of the practice management and is currently leading the implementation of new corporate and practice management systems to enhance productivity and further the quality that KLH Architects delivers.
As previous Chair of RIBA Suffolk Bryan has been involved in promoting architecture and architects within Suffolk. This role has evolved in his time as Chair with links being forged with the new School of Architecture at the University of Suffolk, Ipswich. In recognition of the work of RIBA Suffolk and the support that KLH Architects provides the University Bryan has been appointed as a Visiting Senior Fellow in the School of Science, Technology and Engineering.

Project Manager MRICS
Tom joined KLH Architects in 2008 during in his placement year from Sheffield Hallam University, and gained a permanent position to complete his degree on a day release basis at Anglia Ruskin University. Tom became a chartered surveyor in 2018 joining the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors as a project manager.
Tom’s main area of expertise is healthcare with a wide range of projects, including full refurbishments, new build, and modular construction with a range of acute and mental healthcare clients. He is able to assist clients throughout the entire project, from defining the client brief, space planning, technical design, through to completion.
Over the past 10 years Tom has gained a good knowledge of the healthcare sector, with a wide range of projects, helping the client and end users to fully develop clear briefs, challenge derogations and make best use of space to enable a successful project.

Architectural Technologist MCIAT
Alan specialises in construction technology, planning conservation and Building Regulations, and has a keen interest in constructing more sustainable buildings, which has led to his further qualification as a BREEAM Assessor and formerly a Code for Sustainable Homes Assessor. This experience has helped to drive the design of “fabric first “ and futureproofed local authority social housing schemes, that also meet the standards of Lifetime Homes, Building for Life and Secured by Design. Alan also has a keen interest in specialist fire design, and has gained a qualification in NHS Firecode design for hospitals and health buildings.
Most recently, Alan has assisted the University of Suffolk with an innovative Digitech Centre, a hub that forms a collaboration between the University and BT at their Adastral Park Research Centre, to promote education, research and industry links between the University and the fast developing local digital “hub” at Adastral Park.

Having joined KLH Architects at 17 years old, Anya has worked her way through the administration of the company over the last 10 years and now undertakes the role of Company Secretary managing the corporate side of the business and works closely with the directors to achieve organisational objectives.
Alongside her role within KLH, Anya is also Company Secretary on the board of KLH Arch Trustee Ltd where she administers the Employee Owned Trust.

Having joined KLH Architects in 2008 with an RIBA Part 1 degree from the University of Lincoln, Stuart has worked in the healthcare team throughout completion of his studies becoming fully qualified in 2017. Stuart completed his RIBA Part 2 and RIBA Part 3 part-time at London Southbank University and RIBA North West respectively. During this time and since, he has taken the role of Project Architect to see completion of some major healthcare projects.
Stuart has a passion for historic buildings and has been involved in restoration and conversion projects on non-listed and listed projects up to Grade I and is now working towards a conservation accreditation. Stuart promotes the importance of light and spatial arrangement in all projects to create healthy environments for both buildings and their users.

Architectural Technologist MCIAT
Since joining KLH Architects in 2007, Ben has achieved an honours degree in Architectural Technology whilst studying part time at Anglia Ruskin University. He has also gone on to become a full member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists ‘MCIAT’ and is currently undertaking his professional assessment to become a full member of the Chartered Institute of Building.
In the twelve years since joining KLH Architects he has acted as lead consultant on multiple residential properties, commercial projects and has provided technical design input on healthcare projects, specialising in new build residential dwellings and flats. With experience in taking projects from planning through to tender, Ben is also able to provide supervision throughout the construction stage through to handover.
He has recently put together a team to deliver large scale residential developments, combining his construction experience, management skills and knowledge of the Building Regulations to deliver a comprehensive detailed design package for Construction.

Will Joined KLH in 2016 and has accrued 15 years experience within the industry. He has spent most of this time working in and around Suffolk for Local Practices, and has also spent time working as a stonemason in London with some of the UKs leading Interior Designers.
At KLH Will works across a number of sectors including Domestic, Residential, Commercial and Education, across all of the RIBA workstages, from design concepts to contract administration and handover. Will also spends a considerable amount of his time mentoring our junior members of staff in both their professional work and their further education.
Will holds a BA(Hons) in Architecture and is a qualified energy assessor. He is currently completing his RIBA Part 2 part-time, with a view to becoming a chartered Architect. Will is also an accredited PassivHaus designer.

Andy began his architectural career in 1987, taking on a role of Architectural Technician and joined KLH Architects in 2010. Andy’s main areas of expertise are in health care, sport & leisure, and commercial sectors, both private and publicly funded.
Having been trained as an Architectural Technician Andy has also worked for a mechanical and electrical consultant, structural engineers and interior designers and has previously gained valuable hands on site experience. This combined with an extensive and in-depth knowledge in dealing with Design and Build contracts places Andy as a key senior member of staff within KLH Architects and is passionate about moving forwards within the industry.
He is actively involved in the progression of the junior members of staff, driving to encourage high standards within their designs and work.

Senior Architectural Technician ACIOB
Rachel has over 30 years’ experience working in the Construction Industry. Her broad experience ranges from civil and structural engineering, design and construction detailing for a wide variety of architectural projects including commercial, domestic and healthcare. Over the last 15 years at KLH Architects she has specialised in Healthcare Design and has worked closely with several NHS clients. Rachel has developed an extensive knowledge of many different Healthcare services, including General Clinics and Outpatient facilities, Theatres, Pathology, Maternity, Radiology, Ophthalmology, Pharmacy and Mental Health Facilities.
Rachel has developed a good working knowledge of the Healthcare Environment, designing to conform to current Building Regulations, HBN’s and working in close liaison with the end users. She is happy to develop designs with space planning options and challenge existing design standards where existing HBN requirements have been outdated. She understands the changing nature of medical care and how advances in science and technology can mean deviations from HBN standards for the advancement of Services, new medical techniques and equipment.
Rachel thrives on finding design solutions for the ever-changing NHS Services being provided. The use of Revit (3D modelling software) has helped Clients better visualise the design and ensure the end results meet requirements and expectations.

Lucy qualified as an architect in 2014 after completing her RIBA Stage III at The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL after 10 years of studying and working in a London.
Lucy’s experience includes numerous conservation, restoration and conversion projects on Listed and heritage buildings. Her sensitive response to context and materiality reflects her passion for timeless and empathetic design.
Lucy joined KLH in 2019 after moving to Suffolk with her family. During her time with us she has continued to build on her passion by designing and leading numerous projects covering high end residential, conversion and restoration of heritage and Listed buildings. Her experience has expanded to now include a range of healthcare projects.
Alongside her project architect and mentoring roles, Lucy is the Employee Director on the Board of Trustees for the Employees Ownership Trust.

Andy studied at the University of Brighton, qualifying as an architect in 2005. He joined KLH Architects in 2018, having previously worked in Brighton, Eastbourne and Ipswich.
Andy is an experienced architect with a great balance of technical ability, project running and client management. He has worked on a wide range of projects from conception through to completion, with particular expertise in the commercial and retail sectors.
Andy has been responsible for numerous new-build and redevelopment schemes for a major national food retailer across the country. Alongside his project work Andy also provides mentoring and technical support to the junior members of staff.

Chartered Architectural Technologist
Ian has considerable experience working as part of a team, or leading it, in residential, education and commercial projects. He has technical knowledge of many different construction types, contract administration and site inspection experience. As well as working in senior positions in a few companies Ian also set up his own Chartered practice and worked for himself for 6 years.
Whilst qualifying as a Chartered Architectural Technologist in the 90s, Ian spent extensive time working on listed and period properties being involved in high levels of detailed construction drawings and specification. This background has served him well adapting to other sectors and contemporary construction techniques. He has a passion for environmentally sustainable construction and particularly enjoys working on high quality bespoke dwellings, including Passivhaus.
Ian joined KLH in 2022 and is keen to mentor junior members of staff and encourage their progress.

Senior Architectural Technician
Graham has considerable technical experience in flat roofing systems, gained throughout previous employment at Bauder Ltd. Career progression into the Architectural field has enabled him to gain a diverse level of technical and on site construction experience on major public sector, Ministry of Defence, education and commercial projects.
With extensive knowledge of NBS specification, AutoCAD software, and more recently Revit Architecture and BIM related software, he has developed specialist technical knowledge and contract administration experience.

Senior Architectural Technician
Steve joined KLH Architects in 2004 with over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry in both private and public sectors. Steve’s experience makes him a highly valuable member of KLH Architects in which he carries out preliminary and detailed drawing work for Planning and Building Regulations approvals, construction drawings, design coordination and contract administration. Steve enjoys liaising with both client and contractor teams and is also responsible for building surveys and preparing tender documents for contractor appointments.

Since finishing her Part 1 and Part 2 at Kent School of Architecture, University of Kent, Nicola has worked on a large range of projects within the practice. Nicola specialises in concept design and design development, but is increasingly gaining more responsibility over the design and management of projects during the detailed design and construction phase.
Nicola undertook her Part 3 whilst working in the practice in order to become a fully qualified architect. Since achieving this Nicola has been a member of design teams working on competition bids and schemes in education, residential and student accommodation projects. Nicola is heavily involved in the healthcare sector, working numerous projects in the practice.
Nicola has a keen eye for 3D modelling and visualisations and enjoys bringing schemes to life through creative imagery. Since becoming fully qualified she has increasingly more responsibility within the projects she works in and enjoys seeing them through the construction phase to completion.

Agnieszka joined KLH Architects earlier this year with 11 years of experience across a variety of sectors. Over the years, she has developed a wide range of skills at all project work stages, from feasibility and inception through to completion. In recent years, she has been involved in large-scale commercial projects, which included new-build as well as refurbishment schemes. She has delivered various packages for RIBA Stages ranging from 2 to 5, for both commercial and private clients. With years of experience in design delivery and project coordination in a BIM environment, she is confident that having the whole team working together in this ecosystem is vital for optimising the delivery process. She is passionate about providing quality architectural services to clients. She strongly believes that close collaboration and communication with the core consultant design team, client body, and wider team are key to delivering excellence in architecture.

With over 30 years experience within architectural practices, Neil brings a pragmatic and holistic approach to achieving high quality architectural design.

In his career James has worked with both small local practices as well as large multinational firms giving him experience of the breadth of the architectural sector. This is reflected in the varied project sectors he has experience in. James’ current main areas of expertise are in the Commercial and Residential development and has detailed past experience in many other sectors such as Education, Leisure and Defence. During his time in practice he has worked on a wide range of project types and sizes ranging from applications for replacement windows in Listed properties to £40m leisure schemes.
James enjoys the variety of challenges projects bring, from the macro level of master planning urban redevelopment schemes though to the rigour of detail design on high end residential or heritage projects. He enjoys working on projects across the country but feel particularly lucky to have worked on a wide range of historic buildings in his home county of Suffolk. This feeds into his design ethos that great contemporary design draws upon the lessons of the past and that through understanding our built heritage and historic buildings designs can bring the best out of modern construction technologies.
James has been in full time employment within architecture for over twenty years during which he progressed his architectural education via office based examinations in his spare time. Outside of the qualifications gained he attends regular CPD events in the office and has also been involved in a range of in house and externally sourced training including communication skills, audit training and informal skills based development.

Ian started his career as an architectural assistant at 18 whilst studying part-time at university to gain a BSc degree in Architectural Design Technology in 2005. His experience within architecture includes residential developments, bespoke houses, domestic extensions/remodelling, sport and leisure complexes, commercial offices, retail and healthcare facilities.
Ian’s background ranges from working at a timber engineering company, designing and detailing off-site constructed fully finished wall panels and roof cassettes using large structural glulam timbers for a 3,500m² superstore achieving a water tight building from sole plate in just 20 site days, to working for a well-established architectural firm who specialise in classical architecture, detailing high quality large one-off homes and public buildings using traditional methods of construction of bespoke stonework and timber joinery. Although these two are seemingly opposites in terms of their design styles and construction methods, they both played very much to Ian’s strengths of diligence, attention to detail and design co-ordination, qualities Ian applies to every project he works on.
Ian joined KLH Architects in 2024 and is keen to increase his knowledge of environmentally sustainable design and construction methods. He continues to apply a pragmatic approach to all projects whether at concept design, planning or building regulations stages.

Thomas joined KLH as an apprentice in 2016 and during his time at KLH Architects has gained a wealth of experience in planning and construction. He is involved in a wide range of projects including residential, commercial and healthcare work.
Thomas has recently qualified with a first in Architectural Technology BSc Hons after studying part time at the University of Westminster and is looking forward to developing his experience and expertise further within the industry.

Architectural Designer Part 2
Tim completed his RIBA Part I Undergraduate degree specialising in environmental design in 2018. Following this he returned to KLH Architects applying his skills in practice working on a variety of projects at different scales and is currently involved with a number of paragraph 80 dwellings. Tim works at an advanced level in various software programs alongside his capability of a more traditional hand drawing / drafting style. Tim has a particular focus on KLH’s graphic and aesthetic style.
Furthering his career, he is now undertaking an RIBA Part II Masters at the University of Cambridge on day release whilst continuing to manage and run his projects within the office.

Architectural Designer Part 2
Shannon joined KLH Architects in 2020 as a Part I Architectural Assistant and has since gained a breadth of experience across various RIBA work stages. Following two years at the practice, Shannon pursued her Part 2 Masters degree at the University of Bath. Since graduating in 2024, she has rejoined the team, with the aim of completing her Part 3 qualification in the near future. Her experience spans across multiple sectors, allowing her to contribute effectively to a diverse range of projects. Following full-time studies, Shannon hopes to broaden her responsibilities and expand her knowledge of both design and project management.

Ben studied at Anglia Ruskin University, qualifying as an Architectural Technologist in 2019. After graduating, Ben worked for a company specialising in pharmacy design where he managed his own projects from initial concepts to completion.
Upon joining KLH in 2021, Ben uses his skills gained to produce high quality work within a team focused on retail projects. He also has experience working on commercial projects using both Revit and a proficient understanding of AutoCAD software.

Interior Architectural Designer
Vanessa joined KLH Architects in 2021 after completing a degree in BA Interior Design at Kingston School of Art. She works across a variety of sectors, which include Healthcare/Education/Commercial/Residential, focusing on proposals for internal finishes and spatial design with the aim to deliver carefully curated spaces. Vanessa enjoys collaborating with the rest of the design studio with the purpose of creating cohesive environments to enhance the end-user experience.
Vanessa has a keen eye for detail which is fundamental to delivering high quality designs. Her knowledge of Adobe Suite is used in conjunction with Revit to produce detailed presentation boards and 3D visualisations which showcase her ideas. Her unique role also includes creating bespoke wall graphics for various projects.
Vanessa became an Associate member of The British Institute of Interior Design in 2023 and is working towards her BIID Registered Interior Designer accreditation through practice.

Trainee Architectural Technologist
Before joining KLH in 2020, Greg worked as a design draughtsman for a safety equipment fit out company dealing with large London based clients. Since then, at KLH, Greg has worked on a variety of residential projects including large developments to individual high end builds as well as non-residential buildings including healthcare facilities.
Having worked previously in AutoCAD, Greg has now developed his technical drawing skills further by becoming confident using Revit 3D modelling software, allowing him to produce high end schemes.
Greg is currently undertaking his architectural technology degree at the university of London South Bank and is looking forward to continuing with his studies while gaining further knowledge in the workplace.

Since First Coming to KLH Architects in 2016 for work experience, Oscar is now a full time member of KLH. He is undertaking his degree in Architectural Technology at the University of London South Bank with aspirations to be a qualified Architectural Technologist.
Working at KLH, Oscar has quickly become adapt in 3D BIM modelling and graphics software such as those supplied by Autodesk and Adobe. He applies these in a variety of projects including; Commercial, Healthcare, Residential and large scale Residential work.

Olivia joined KLH Architects in July 2021, after graduating from her RIBA Part I undergraduate degree at the University of Suffolk. With an advanced knowledge of Revit, InDesign, and Photoshop, Olivia specialises in Healthcare across a variety of projects for local NHS Trusts which has enabled her to broaden her abilities in feasibility and concept design, planning submissions, building information modelling and graphic design. Olivia is currently undertaking her RIBA Part II + Part III master’s degree at London Southbank University on day release whilst balancing her responsibilities within the office. She looks forward to gaining valuable knowledge and experience from her studies to integrate into her office projects as an architect and designer.

After recently completing her BA(Hons) degree at Norwich University of the Arts, Alicia joined KLH Architects as a Part 1 Architectural Assistant in October 2023.
Alicia is primarily working alongside with the healthcare team and has previously had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects for the interior and commercial teams.
Alicia is currently doing her part 1 placement and would like to undertake a Master’s in Architecture with the intentions to become a qualified Architect in the future. While working with KLH she is looking to further develop her skills in visual design and 3D modelling.

Part 1 Architectural Assistant
Luke attained his BA (Hons) Degree in Architecture at Norwich University of the Arts in 2023. While studying he entered design competitions and gained industry experience working freelance on design projects. Luke’s academic work is themed around the Anthropocene and identifying place in spaces that are often considered placeless. After graduating he worked on a number of residential projects for Suffolk based practice Let’s Design Architecture Ltd.
Since joining KLH in 2024, Luke has worked with the team on projects that vary in type and scale, utilising digital and physical ways of working. Luke plans on studying a Masters Degree in Architecture in a few years time.

Alfie joined KLH in September 2024 as a trainee architectural technologist after completing his college courses. Janine joined KLH Architects in September 2022, which meant a change in career. Before joining, she was a Primary School Teacher for 15 years, utilizing her BEd Hons degree, but her working career started at Merrill Lynch in London, as a PA to 2 managing directors. She moved to Suffolk and became an Office Administrator for one of the design teams at BT. This was followed by a Finance Clerk position for an Energy firm, which had its employees based in Budapest.

Joanne joined KLH in December 2022 as Office Administrator. Previously Joanne ran her own baking business for 15 years but was ready for a change of career.
Originally from Northumberland, Joanne moved to Suffolk when she married, after completing her Degree in Business and Secretarial Studies at Newcastle Polytechnic and worked as PA to the Financial Services Director at Cook Insurance Brokers.

Caretaker/CAD Technician
Lori has worked in the field of civil and structural engineering consultancy for 13 years. During this time she has gained skill and confidence in drafting and detailing on a wide range of engineering projects using AutoCAD software. She joined KLH Architects in October 2018.
Lori is also responsible for ensuring that the office is kept clean and organised and has continued to keep all the staff safe throughout the pandemic.

Highways Consultant/CDM Advisor
Ian joined KLH Architects as Highways Consultant on a part time basis 3 years ago. In that time Ian has been involved in numerous projects covering the following elements of project delivery:
- Production of S278 Highway Agreements and liaison with the Highway Authority
- Engineering design and scheduling of works on civil engineering schemes
- Site administration and supervision on civil engineering works
- Financial management on civil engineering projects
- Engineering advice for S38 and S106 Agreements
In addition to engineering related elements of projects Ian also assists KLH in ensuring compliance with the CDM Regulations 2015. This role includes:
- Production of pre-construction information
- Production of Designer Risk Assessments
- Assisting in the role of Principal Designer
- Assisting in the production of Health and Safety Files for completed projects
- Providing advice to colleagues in relation to Health and Safety and the CDM Regulations
