West Suffolk Hospital Residencies, Bury St Edmunds

This new NHS staff accommodation facility in Bury St Edmunds, completed in April 2019, provides 160 bedrooms split over three 5 storey blocks. The new residencies were built as three separate blocks to accommodate the gradient across the site. The site layout retains established tree areas around the new residencies, as well as north, east and south of the development. Pedestrian links allow the new staff accommodation to access and benefit from the public open space on Hardwick Heath.

Close liaison with the client team allowed KLH Architects to develop the brief to best suit the end user whilst responding to the ongoing developments in healthcare training provision.
